I'm a truck driver. Traveling US 23 Northbound just South of Oh-229 in Deleware county Ohio at about 1:30PM on August 4, 2010, a sudden and violent storm blew in. It started raining first, then instantly became driving rain with high winds. Visibility was very bad and I dropped speed down to 10-15 mph and was looking to pull off to the side of the highway and wait out the storm. The winds kicked up extremely hard and my whole truck was rocking back and forth. At this point I was pretty sure this wasn't good....

What you see is the aftermath of my truck being blown over on it's side. Not only did I get blown over, but two other trucks behind me and a barn to the west of me was blown over as well. Luckily, no one was seriously hurt here.

...oh and don't mind my corny narration. lol

  • How did they trick u into being a lease operator?

  • @btoclub

I'm not leasing at all.I'm just a company driver. Not interested or have the resources to be an owner op right now.

  • Did they count it as preventable? Did you have to change your drawers? All joking aside it's good that you were ok. Thanks for the video. Keep on truckin.

  • @mark7371

Lol, I may have said it while I was being flipped, but fortunately for my drawers I didn't have time to actually do it :) My drawers survived in tact without a mark on em. lol

  • Is the cab pretty much totaled..or is it wort fixing..?

  • @PERIZ99

nah. most damage done was to the engine because it was still running at the time i got dumped and i didn't have it in mind to turn it off while figuring out what just happened and which way was up. It stalled out shortly afterwards . Also, the APU kicked on and I couldn't get it to turn off. It also stalled out and was fubar'd. Other than that, not a whole lot of damage. They did fix it from what I was told. I got a different truck afterwards though.

  • seatbelts?

  • How did it feel as you were going down?

  • Give it to some Russians and they will buff it out and drive that bitch some more LOL

  • @mark7371 It's an incedent/act of god I bed. But I would guess non-preventable, how the hell can you prevent that? Now JB Hunt would put you down instantly as preventable until they investigate. I know they've pulled it with me when a truck ran a red and hit me. JB just aint right that way. But hell I drove for them for 10 years or so till I got this local job a few years ago. Still miss truckin though..

  • Dang this is scary.. I always wanted to see how they flipped one back up though. glad you made it out ok!

  • Good thing you made it.

    Thanks for uploading.

  • That part of the county gets some pretty bad wind sometimes, it's flat with nothing to block the wind.

  • Damn that sucks. Must have been a bitch cleaning the inside having all your stuff thrown around. The initial fall must have hurt like a bitch, probably more scary than anything though.
