THIS LITTLE CHILD
Verse 1
Who would have thought that long ago
So very far away
A little child would be born
And in a manger laid

And who would have thought this little child
Was born the King of kings
The Son of just the carpenter
For whom the angels sing

And who would have thought that as He grew
And with other children played
This child of whom they laughed and sang
Would die for them some day

And who would have thought this little child
Could make a blind man see
Feed the hungry make rich the poor
And set the sinner free

Oh, who would have thought this little child
Was who the prophets said
Would take away the sins of man
And rise up from the dead

Chorus 1
Oh, I believe and I will always sing
This little child is the King
Oh, I believe and I will always sing
This little child
He is the King of kings

Verse 2
Many years have come and gone
Yet this world remains the same
Empires have been built and fallen
Only time has made a change
Nation against nation
Brother against brother
Men so filled with hatred
Killing one another
And over half the world is starving
While our banner of decency is torn
Debating over disarmament
Killing children before they're born
And fools who march to win the right
To justify their sin
Oh, every nation that has fallen
Has fallen from within
Yet in the midst of this darkness
There is a hope a light that burns
This little child the King of kings
Some day will return

Chorus 2
And I believe and I will always sing
This little child is the King
And I believe and I will always sing
This little child
He is the King of kings

Verse 3
Who would have thought this little child
Is who the prophets said
Will return to judge this world
The living and the dead
Oh, can't you see that long ago
So very far away
This little child our only hope
Was born a King that day

  • this is the best music video i have ever seen

  • Thanks for the comments. This has been my prayer that anyone who view this video be touched by the message of the song and by the Holy Spirit.

  • Scott Wesley Brown is awesome. The depth and power of his voice amazes me. This is one of his best = out of many big hits. Donald James Parker Author of All the Fury of the Wind - featuring lyrics from two of SWB's songs.

  • Thanks, I too have always loved the song. While making the clip, I could not help but weep and cry, remembering what He has done for me. Thank you, Jesus!

  • I was probably 11-12 years old when I had a dream about being an a mountain looking over a valley and city then watching it be destroyed by something like bombs or even huge rocks then a bright light filling the sky changing everything that was destroyed into something new....As soon as the light hit in my dream my alarm clock radio went off playing this son.....It was playing during the dream and I heard it even though I was dreaming and seeing the changes. Freaked me out when I woke up lol

  • @Scurvebeard A STRANGE DISTINCTION?! Abortion is a heinious crime that is unthinkable. It is a crime against humanity. As for starving children,it is no less of a crime, and this video doesn't favor one over another. We have filthy rich hogs like Gates and Soros who probably could set up Africa with a food program that would end starvation.Big deal, the millions they donate are like you donating a penny.Human selfishness and rebellion are the root of human suffering.

  • @scurvebeard Focus isn't just put on the unborn. There are countless people, countless non profit organizations, countless welfare programs, countless the list goes on. But if you want us to ignore the unborn, its not going to happen.

  • I find it a strange distinction to focus on the children that are killed before they're born. What about those who die to the inadequacies of their poorly-educated parents or the heartless legislation that denies them shelter? We don't seem to mind sending them off to war, or letting them rot on the streets, where many turn to prostitution. We don't seem to mind creating as many of them as we can, with poor sex education.

Once they're out of the womb, it's not such a pretty picture, is it?
