If you watch the old Leave it to Beaver episodes you will see this house as a mansion BEFORE it became the Munster's house. In one episode an old lady lives there, and in another it's the house where Richard breaks out the window and tells the cop his name is Theadore Cleaver.

very outstanding old video

yes -the "Inside"that we see.. is just a stage set inside the studio
The house was actually used for storage I dont know if it still is-It was so sad!
It IS indeed a "Prop" house on a Street in a Studio "neighborhood" Like the Psycho house and many others
But it'll always be the Munster's Home to me!, I would live in it.. :)

* update*
Oh wait
I have heard that they " fixed it up" since I saw it in shambles awhile back,
for an episode of " desperate housewives!" although I hate that show-I'm glad My Poor lonely little Munster House On Colonial Dr. has gotten some attention although it lookes a bit "preppy" lol in the pics I have seen. Oh well..
I'm not really 2 happy about it being blue, but at least its not falling apart anymore, I don't think
unless they just did a quickie job on it for the show?

it's a shame..the condition it is in at the studio lot :(

i wish I had the $ to buy it and live in it :D

Looks, and sounds exactly like the old houses near my hood in waterbury ct. chesnut ave.!!! Not even as scary

-
The house is at Wisteria Lane (Colonial Drive, Universal Studios), it was remodeled for the 2nd season of Desperate Housewives :P
-
@tomasz1641 Well, not exactly. The Munster house doesn't have trees growing up through it.

That's a miniature.
Loved that house...But what i never understood was why they never shot any of the right-side downstairs.Theres sliding doors as soon as you come thru the frontdoor.Just another mystery of the house i guess.
