Schizoid man, you might want to consider removing your comment. Take it easy. There is no comparison being made here. You need to watch the film again. The narrator is simply pointing out that both events shocked and traumatised the world, and that this cast a grim shadow over the period, and many decades to come.

@theschizoidman "Number 6", Revisionism is when the Jews claim they are the primary sufferers. many more than 6 million non Jews were killed by the Germans, in the same systematic methods. Lenin took out 13 million+, white Russians, Christians, but you hear little of that. And trying to judge the motives of moraless monsters for the holocaust and Hiroshima is difficult. Monsters like Roosevelt had no problem Letting Pearl Harbor happen. It was allowed. And on it goes.

I think Schizoid has a point. I felt a twinge of 'oh here we go....PC' when the narrator ponderously compared Japan and Germany. I imagine the people of Europe were thinking of neither and more there own damage and loss. And the narrator's tone is appalling; post-modern daft.

Very interesting footage, but no doubt Carol, Alex and Graham, not to mention Orson would most definitely be appalled by the moral relativistic narration which among other things, equates Hiroshima with the Holocaust. One ended the war with Japan, the other was a national policy of genocide. Welcome to the 21st century of revisionism. Winston Smith's nightmare come alive.
