Oh, I thought Nina was the usual character to give Slice, what with being physical and her not having a good regular attack

You can give it to her, but I prefer to give it to Ryu for easy Giant Island grinding. Since it is one of the few attacks that pierce defense it OHKOs the fly and by giving it to Ryu you always have it no matter who you are leveling.

Slice isn't even useful until after this area anyway.

Secret to success here is to wait until AFTER you get Jean and your second Dragon transformations before coming here.

Ryu however is always a good choice.

0:39 - Teach Slice to someone that you're 100 percent sure you want in your party indefinitely. Preferably a really fast character.
