Part 3 of 4

Includes the citizens leave the meeting, the Ehrlich sign guy, and a woman explains how universal healthcare is like the holocaust.

On August 10, 2009 hundreds of citizens rallied together to speak their minds on the national heatlh care reform bill outside of Maryland Senator Benjamin Cardin's first townhall meeting. This is the raw footage that I shot of the event. Both sides of the issue are represented.

The weather was horrid and it's amazing that this amount of people showed up. My guesstimate is 70% of the protestors did NOT support health care reform. And if anyone looked "manufactured" it was those people wearing red shirts with a nice big professional banner. But I digress...just watch the videos and please comment!

  • I like the population control sign. I am going to go back and edit my video files for just the signs. You stayed there later than me. I pooped out around 8 pm. If this bill passes or in any way gets onto the books, these people begging for obamacare are going to be standing there with their mouths hanging open when they realize that the powers that be don't really want to see them get good healthcare. Why would any sane person trust the govt with their health care?

  • If it weren't for government failures such as the DMV, Post Office and most importantly VA Hospitals I would support universal healthcare.

But because the U.S. Government can't run things properly (mainly because there is no profit motive, unlike private enterprise) I have to not support it.

  • Oh yeah...and it's a good thing you left early. About 2 minutes after I hit stop on my camera the rain poured and the thunder roared.

I was completely soaked walking back to my car! But I'm glad I went to this protest.

  • Insurance companies have NOTHING to do with healthcare...we have the best healthcare in the world...the argument is over how to "pay" for it...healthcare is a human right not a privledge
