"Miss Betty" with the all-girl band QUIVER, from 1993 on Know Records.

"This song was written about a two dollar plastic doll" --Quiver 1993

One of the notable all-female bands from Los Angeles, Quiver played original groove-oriented art-punk in the 1990's. They achieved local success in the L.A. club circuit. One of their favorite "haunts" was Raji's on Hollywood Blvd, where they performed weekly. Quiver played shows everywhere from The Troubador to unknown warehouse lots in Orange County. Their shows made the "Scoring The Clubs" section of the L.A. Weekly.

Quiver released a 7" vinyl EP on Know Records entitled "Miss Betty" in 1993. It was distributed world-wide by Dutch East Indies. The same year, Quiver also appeared on the Homeboy Records CD compilation of local bands entitled "Blackout L.A.". They received air-play on the Los Angeles college radio stations such as KXLU, and Rodney Bingenheimer's radio show on KROQ. The band also garnered great reviews in "Maximum Rock N Roll" and other fanzines.

"By the late 1980's, what was labeled 'punk rock' had become one of the last places where a musician could maintain their artistic integrity and explore originality. It was more 'real', 'down to Earth' than 'Pop'. Pop music was part of the 'Industry Machine' in those days; Very little or no freedom. It's a shame that punk rock was associated with so much negativity. It was almost the same restriction in reverse. If you weren't 'dark', you weren't acceptable. I liked pink and purple, and that was a 'skeleton in my closet'."

Lead vocal, Bass -- Amy Knorr;
Backing Vocal, Guitar -- Patricia Klein;
Backing Vocal, Guitar -- Tracy Taylor;
Drums -- Danielle Elliot.

Their final show was in 1998.
