Mindy Weisel is an internationally acclaimed artist & author. Her paintings are displayed in major collections around the world, including the Smithsonian, the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, the National Museum of American Art, Yale University, the Israel Museum and the United States Capitol. Weisel is also an active participant in the U.S. State Department's "Art in Embassies" program. Her art has also been featured in more than 22 one-person exhibitions, and been reviewed in The New York Times, The Washington Post, USA Today and ART News. Weisel was born in Bergen-Belsen Displaced Persons Camp after WWII, the only daughter of Auschwitz survivors. This background and her parents experience of having lost their mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers, aunts and uncles in death camps gave rise to a lifelong quest, as artist and author, of finding hope and light in the face of darkness. In her books, as well as her numerous exhibitions, Weisel expresses faith in the survival of beauty and the transformative power of art. Her books include: Daughters of Absence: Transforming a Legacy of Loss; Touching Quiet: Reflections in Solitude and The 7 Day Color Diet: The New Way to Health and Beauty.
