Also, ask him about the "giant eel" he and his men blew up with grenades during this "incident". dude i was at benning for OSUT and i'll tell you what at night in the woods it is the fuckin scariest place on earth. like on the night land nav course me and my squad were scared shitless but nobody knew of what. it wasnt the dark, it wasnt the boogyman we had m4s for gods sake, it was something though. somethin fucked up

Im not sure what was happening in '77 as my military history between 74 and 83 is a little rusty. But if something big was going on in the world that may have required deployment, it could have been a readiness drill that a 4 star was observing.

Ofcourse, that would require that this guys is either lying (whether he knows it or not, or if it's for his own reasons or not), mentally ill or misinformed (didn't know it was a training mission or readiness drill, though I don't know how).
