Professor, Historian and international man of mystery Niall Furtherson lets the swelling dramatic music of his latest history documentary convince him of his own self importance.
Extract from and interview with Niall Furtherson:
Interviewer, "With regards responsible carbon emissions, isn't there enough stock footage with you having fly around the world to walk through the field, river, mountain or building you are talking about.?
NIall, "the most important thing about history is the historian himself. I am not talking about the historians who just write it down in a book and its all boring 'research', I'm talking about proper TV historians who tell the stories with dramatic music in front huge backdrops which give the maximum impact. If i'm to talk about the Yangtse river - I HAVE to fly there, yes, and let it flow majestically behind my balls, because if not how will they know what I'm talking about?
