Kenny Maclver, editor of Information Age, introduces the Information Age Innovation Awards 2008.

At the heart of the IT industry lies relentless innovation, a factor so common that it is often unnoticed and accepted as the norm. Information Age, the UKs leading IT B2B monthly magazine, is proud to be working with the very best innovators and users within our community, and is keen to see excellence awarded.

This is the first event of its type in the UK and for the first time readers of Information Age are invited to our judging panel by simply voting online.

The entries have been divided into several categories:

Security - In appreciation of the momentous challenges of protecting the enterprise in the digital age

Information Management - Celebrating cutting-edge software and services in the field of information management

Eco Responsibility - Recognising initiatives designed to reduce ITs carbon footprint,

Data Centre - Championing the technology products or services that have had most impact on the challenges of delivering highly reliable, cost-effective, energy-efficient data centre services

Business Applications - The focus is on core business applications, recognising the value created by these evolving technology platforms and related management environments.
