Yes this song is so banal. It only portrays the most important concept known to man from our Declaration of independence:

This is my right. A right given by God. To live a free life. To live in freedom.

If anyone tries to take it away he'll have to answer. Cause this is my right.

Those words are beautiful and profound. And especially at this time and then we needed to be reminded of them.

The traditional American philosophy teaches that Man, The Individual, is endowed at birth with rights which are unalienable because given by his Creator.

God-given rights are called Natural Rights--those possessed by Man under the Laws of Nature, meaning under the laws of God's creation and therefore by gift of God. Man (government or anyone else) has no power to alienate--to dispose of, by surrender, barter or gift--his God-given rights, according to the American philosophy.

They're not in any way profound. Surely if you have your freedom granted by someone then you're not really free at all?

I think you'll find the 'god' bit was added on over time. I'm assuming you're trying to refer to the constitution and that you're not totally making this 'traditional American philosophy' up.

I think your time frame as to when things are going to happen is a joke. This whole thing has become a joke because the expectation of something happening has become a huge let down. Too bad that many of us won't live to see it.
