In early 2009 Australian Red Cross Blood Service launched a new 30-second television commercial, titled Powerful Fact. The commercial visually reinforces the importance of on-going blood donations by highlighting that whilst 1 in 3 people will require blood or blood products in their lifetime, only 1 in 30 gives blood.
The commercial aimed to build the awareness of blood types by visually representing the A, B and O letters.
Filmed at one of Sydneys beaches, the commercial aired over the summer months as a build-up to 2009 Year of the Blood Donor
