  • hello can i ask 2 questions can i install windows 7 ultimate 64bit on this and will it run a minecraft server (bukkit) on with a ethernet card and 8gb ram

  • @1potato2potato345 We've not tried Windows 7 on here but it's a 64-bit box based on AMD hardware so you shouldn't have any problems. As for Minecraft, again if you have a 64-bit executable of the server software then I can't see any problems. The server takes 8GB ram max (2 x 4gb dimms) and it comes with an onboard gigabit nic.

  • HI! i can install any hard disk in the SATA frontal bay? for example, install 3 Samsung HD204UI Hard Disk, 2TB 5400rpm, Serial ATA 3.0Gbps, Buffer: 32 MB ????

  • @gustavohmsilva Yep we've tried 2TB SATA drives in here and they work fine.

  • Is the Kingston part KVR1333D3E9S/4G compatible with this server ?

  • @jacquesyousheettube Yep, as long as you remove the 1GB ECC DIMM that comes in there as standard as you can not mix Non-ECC with ECC.

  • @macintosh0 Seeing as you never got a reply form the poster, I'll answer. These don't make much noise at all, vibration depends a lot on what HDDs you buy. I've heard of some people buying one of these and having a buzz come from the PSU though.

You don't need to buy any additional cables for the HDDs, they attach to a backplane when you insert the caddies.

  • Well... it would worth mentioning, that to remove the MB you have to loose two screws.... ?!

  • KVR1333D3E9S/4G is ECC memory and reviews seem to show compatibility with the 1 GB ECC DIMM that comes in there as standard (so no removal necessary)

HOWEVER Kingston manufactures an officially supported DIMM, the

KTH-PL313E/4G, which is the "official" supported DIMM to add.
