Sorry m8 but there's NOTHING you can do because its a complete fook up! Ubisoft recently found out about this dangerous glitch and made a patch so you can download it. Only problem is you have be connected to the internet to download this patch which isn't on any of the newest Assassins Creed 2 copies. But the main fook up is you have to start your save all over again. I sold my copy two days later because it completely pissed me off and couldn't be bothered to carry on with it!
