  • Thanks nzoz1985, it's a sublime song. I'm pretty sure that Sean Kelly donated the proceeds of that track to the Salvation Army.

  • wow... that's nice of him! i've always liked this track - it made up greatly for the other two singles they released in that year!

Babados is great, 'out of mind', oh no!

  • @tasimana I can't understand why it didn't chart either. The few reasons I can think of is that radio probably wouldn't have given it any air time, as it's really quiet flat & does have the power of Barbados of OOMOOS. This is a song that has to grow on you over time & doesn't have instant hit written all over it. It was also the last single released from the OOMOOS LP, in Dec. '85 & by then has perhaps run it's course?

  • @levitatingbluecat Yes, according to the picture sleeve of the 7" single, it says that all proceeds were donated to the Salvos. I also read that when Sean was younger, he went through a rough patch and the Salvos helped him out - to which he was eternally greatful for. To this day, I still don't understand the actual meaning behind this song, the lyrics are confusing, & the video makes it even more confusing. FANTASTIC SONG though, both versions of it.

  • a young Noah Taylor can be seen..

  • i had a cassette release of this album which had *a stack* of bsides on side b of the tape. searching online - all the disogs seem incorrect. creature from black lagoon was one song... tropic of cancer... seeing is believing... i'd love to get hold of those songs again

  • @levitatingbluecat You're right he did just read that in James' book last night.

  • @ffnarffnar I have copies 2 of the vinyl and 2 cd's if you like one i would gladly send one. Anybody likes this song should have a copy. Do prefer records or cd.

  • Cool song! RIP James! Courageous stuff, pal!
