Early 1970's KAY 'Wah Wah 1' pedal with Germanium Transistors. Still sounds cool after 38 years of use.

Bought it new in 1973 for £7.50 from ABC Music in Addlestone in Weybridge, Surrey UK. I remember the event as clear as day, although it was a cold and dark November evening as I raced there after school...

Tracks played with '73 Fender Stratocaster hardtail and last, a Vintage Hofner E457/se Archtop. Recorded direct into a Korg Triton Extreme Workstation.

This represents a massive piece of my playing life as was my only pedal for years as gives raunchy OD/distortion too amongst other clever effects when used in combination with reverb/tremolo etc... enjoy a piece of sonic history!

  • Hey - that has that 60's psychedelic sound off to a 'T' !! I must look more closely at some of the old less obvious gear from back then. There are some hidden secrets to be unearthed...
