Part 37: This is the continuation of a new series where I build the Excursion Train and Coal Mine Scenes.

Music Notes: The music on this video was recorded using Sonar Home Studio Ver 6.0. The drums and keyboards were played on an M-Audio Keystation 61 ES and/or sequenced in the MIDI Editor. The bass used is an SX Fretless Jazz Clone Modded with Dimarzio J Pickups.

  • Forgive me if you already did, but would you consider making a video of how you made the static grass applicator? I know you did one using a electronic fly swatter but it appears this is a different beast???

  • Would an old electiric shaver help with the "gold course" area?

  • @kernelsac have you tried zippo fuel or acetone on a rag? that will take the glue off just keep it away from the ties.

  • I love it Evert!. Hey I have been doing alot of this stuff to MY railroad, as you saw on your facebook site, and it took awhile , as is yours....and by the time I pulled off the masking tape over the tracks it left a nasty residue that was nearly impossible to remove....what syour trick?

  • Outstanding video! Keep them coming!

  • Brilliant vid! Love your laid back style and the music - you've got real skill man. You make it look so easy!! Have you built a new static grass applicator? It doesn't look like your original fly swatter model.

  • Yes the latter looks much better. Fine job

  • @retrainrun

    "an static job"

    Fail English much?

  • Great video and music! you're doing an static job, no pun intended.

  • looks great, always good to watch here seeing what you do and how well its come along :D thanks for the videos really great

  • You know what you should do to get rid of the "golf corse" type look to your grass is what I did. try dry brushing some different colors into it such as yellows, and browns. It breaks up the constant green color and adds more realism.

  • hmm you should get some multiple lenth static grass and mix it up so it comes out not so uniform or add some longer stuff to the golf course like stuff cheers

  • Oh, and I forgot to compliment you on the idea of using a probe (paper clip?) instead of a nail in the substrate to make the electrical connection. I have always thought an application wasn't practical as the idea of putting in nails every where seemed tedious. Your solution is elegant.

  • Is that static grass applicator the one you made from the fly swatter? Looks like its working great. :)

  • Great video. What make(s) of static grass do you use?

  • Great video as always! And that music is soo cool, my favourite!

For the "golf course" grass problem maybe you could fix it up by adding some buildings on top or bushes and trees to cover it up?

Or making a golf course diorama out of it! :D

  • Another outstanding how-to video . . . Thanks so much and keep them coming!!!
