UK Riots 2011 - An Insight and a History...?

... did Beverage get it wrong, or have successive governments succumbed to the bleeding hearted generosity of the liberal elite? Would we have been better off as a society, as a nation in keeping benefits at a breadline level, and are they now far to generous and 'comfortable' for many to give up?

Has Berlin's concerns over the Nanny State finally bore rotten fruit? Are we sick and tired of HMG having the answer, the prescription for life and having them force it upon us with their contrary reports and guidelines and the pernicious legislation against individuals who choose not to comply (and the family) and in doing so harm no-one yet are criminalised for not doing as they are told?

Has every incarnation of HMG since 1946, with their 'answers', only fuelled the various fires of resentment and discontent society has witnessed in the last 65 years? And is the present coalition, as the last government, falling into the very 'we know best' trap Berlin warns of!!
