Loy Allen Jr. got on the apron causing him to hit the wall in turn 4. Just as he slid down the frontstretch he gets hit on the driver side from Wally Dallenbach, Jr. Allen would be cut out and transported to the hospital for arm injury. Interview from Dallenbach.

@kornnut43 wish someone would post footage of Terry's victory lap with Bobby and Terry's championship interview.

Thanks for this, man... I remember we had a power outage that day, and missed a big chunk of the race. The came back on, and this was the first thing we saw. We friggin' missed Gordon coming back from being a lap down, too. Wasn't that fun a power outage. haha
You don't happen to have the finish of this race, do you? With Terry winning the title and Bobby winning the race, it was pretty memorable stuff!

had Allen continued he had alot of potential, enough to change the landscape of the late 90's. Not in Gordon or Sr's skill level, but couldve been as good as a bobby labonte or a kurt busch maybe

Oh yeah, especally on the Superspeedways. He caught on quick to the Short tracks too. Too bad, he was one of my favorites too. Great underdog

this crash started very similar to the one Mickey Hudspeth was in during the ACRA race the day before when he drove on the apron in the repaved (and unmarked) part of turn 4

That's no wonder why Loy hasn't raced much since then.
He was one hell of a driver.
