In 1955, the multi-talented Johnny Crawford became one of the original 24 Disney Mouseketeers. When that number was paired to 12 after the first year, Johnny was left out and he subsequently took on the role of Mark McCain on tv's "Rifleman" starring Chuck Connors. It was during his time on this television series that Johnny cut a few hit recordings, the first of which was "Cindy's Birthday" which went into the Top 10 in June of 1962.

  • Johnny is a week younger than I. I remember watching The Rifleman when I was a kid. Always liked his style. I also remember going to dances in the '60's and dancing to his records. One of my favorite songs by him was Debbie. Search for it here and enjoy!

  • Still is a great show for kids to watch. Great acting but Johnny and Chuck. Always taught great lessons for life. Johnny is one hell of a talent and is still performing music today. Great going John.

  • Today is my Cindy's birthday. Happy Birthday sweetheart. I am dedicating this song to you

  • I never knew he sang these songs on the 60s. Brings back memories. Good memories!!!!!!

  • What a cutie he was as a little boy! I remember him on The Rifleman. Long time ago!

  • me and my parents still watch The Rifleman on tv. :) such a huge fan of Johnny!

  • Johnny STILL has a major serious head of hair...even at his age!

All joking aside...he's a good man.

  • very cool!

  • Without a doubt, this is one of my very favorite records of all time. It's great on so many levels (the melody, the harmony vocals, the guitar, the strings, the production value, -- A+ all the way).

  • OMG... How sweet and cute is this!!! I remember this song, way back when!!! Thanks for the video and your notes that are very historical of his life!!! He was a Disney Kid!!! Enjoyed the video very much!!!
