He also forgot you need to let the water drain out of the orchids otherwise yu risk root rot. And you need to use weak fertilizer every 2 weeks or so. Trim off dead ends, and mist the orchid, water when needed.

Don't center the plant, stick the oldest growth to the side.
Use some kind of no degradable things on the bottom for drainage, not bark
As you can see, this is no expert on orchids
