  • And then they failed.. COME BACK PONTIAC!

  • @soundtheology Holden existed before GM bought it out so it would be in existence without GM today. The car was called the G8 in America so it would fit into Pontiac's naming system (eg. G6, G8 etc.). The VE Commodore was released 2 years before the Commodore was exported to the USA and sold as the G8. Yes the engine is from america but that doesn't mean the car is american. Here's a true fact: The C'dore wouldn't have existed if it wasnt for Opel. They made the 1st Commodore.

  • @scarblade234 You're silly. I quote "GM had jack shit to do with it.". How did they have "jack shit" to do with the G8? When the entire 8 part of the G has to do with the ENGINE that GM built. All I am saying is that GM does have Jack Shit to do with it, in fact, the G8 wouldn't exist without GM. And if you didn't have a parent you wouldn't exist either. Kind of like Holden wouldn't exist without their PARENT company. ;)

  • @soundtheology Holden was around before GM. Holden's website says: "PARENT COMPANY - General Motors Company, Detroit, Michigan, USA". GM approved the production of the Commodore back in 1978. Let me say that again: APPROVED the PRODUCTION of the Commodore back in NINETEEN SEVENTY EIGHT!!!. This does not mean GM built the car, it means they approved for a company they own to build and manufacture a car. Since 1978, Holden kept updating the Commodore with new models AT THEIR OWN CHOICE.

  • @scarblade234 GM kind of has EVERYTHING to do with it, because if it wasn't for GM there wouldn't even be a Holden. Here's a simple tip for you, free of charge. The internet is a powerful tool, if you ever want to find out what is called a FACT, simply go to the source. Holden's website says "General Motors Company, Detroit, Michigan, USA.". Just go to Holden's "About" page, after you're done reading, come back and let us all know how stupid you feel. Thanks.

  • @scarblade234 Holden is a part of GM.

  • They're bring this car back as the Chevy Caprice

  • @tperr63 GM had jack shit to do with it. Just gave holden the engine. Holden designed, built, produced and exported the commodore (g8). The g8 modified parts (front bumper and badges) were even built/put on in aus.

  • @Coolio2480 yeah, der.
