I found a pop song example; it's not Christian but it does have an anti-drunk driving message... "Unitled" by Simple plan ends on IV9. The melody hits 1 as usual and an orchestra effect comes in on the surprise chord noodling around and fading out. It sounds pretty final to me. Maybe it's a matter of taste but I think it's possible to get away with that kind of ending if one intends something a little unsettling.

@ne0romantic And a lot of your earlier examples end with plagal candences too, not perfect authentic cadences, but I don't even think you need a I chord to end a song and make it sound "finished." It certainly takes a lot more work, getting the context right if you're going to end on something other than the tonic and it certainly won't happen very often, but it's possible and it does happen sometimes.

Meh...This is like the real mythbusters... you take a myth, do a few checks which don't really disprove the myth, and then blow something up. I bet there are Christian blues songs that end with I7 or I7-9 or something. Some of the pop songs these days might have only one chord for the whole song so no cadences at all in the conventional sense, they need rhythmic equivalencies or something else to make them work. You can fool the ear too with other cadences; it's all context driven.

the bumper music is in the Garage Band collection of sound effects and music jingles. we didn't use those too often, but occasionally drew from that source.

Ah, thank you for the heads up. Yeah, we seem to be having some difficulty somewhere in the mix. But, thanks for watching! Way to go on the rock piano-- keep it up!!
