Our collapsible ferrocerium fire-starter takes all excuses and throws them into the fire! This may possibly be the smallest ferrocerium fire starter on the market today. Attach it to your key chain, throw it into your pocket or tie it to your pack but never again leave home without one.

  • You talk so much!

  • @PassiveEngine

    Thanks!

  • @ExotacInc I was like, "COME ON MAKE FIRE GAH!" Lol.

  • @PassiveEngine

Yeah its a pretty terrible video. I can't tell you how cold it was that day and how much I dislike being on video. However, it's so much easier to demonstrate which is why I made it in the first place.

We'll have some new videos this summer that are MUCH better. Maybe I'll even get to remove this one!

  • I'm liking this and I see local supplier in the UK just got them into stock! Are you the inventor?

  • @76bts

    Sure am!

Rob @ Wilderness 121 is a great guy (UK dealer). If you have any questions just let him or I know.

  • The product looks excellent but boy did I feel awkward watching you struggle to start that fire...

  • I like that he kept it real though.

  • @PassiveEngine its called a review. dumb fuk..

  • @ExotacInc It's not terrible, I am just very impatient.

  • @fishtankbank not very

  • Should hold the striker and pull the ferrocium rod away that way you don't hit or push your tinder. Then fold the grass over the charcloth holding it while you blow on it.

  • how quick do fire steels ware away?

  • I bought this like 2 months ago. Love it, quiet, compact, works really well, and it looks awesome!

  • @Centerfingerblades

Our current estimate is May 31st. The best way to know for sure is to visit our website and register for an account to receive our monthly newsletter with updates.

    Thank you!

  • Damn all sold out, when will some more be in stock?

  • Thank you very much for the compliments. While we don't give out the exact composition, the material is most definitely a mischmetal. It has become common to refer to these as ferrocerium rods even though they are a mischmetal. Our rods are nearly identical to what some call a "FireSteel".

We will be putting together a better video here shortly so keep an eye out!

  • What a nice looking design and very innovative. Do you guys give specs on the composite of the firesteel? Just wondering if it is purely ferrocium or a micsh metal. Thx

  • dryer lint lights faster and is better than cotton also if you add a dollop of Vaseline to the lint you can get a long lasting small fire to warm water.

  • Thanks!

I can use all the help I can get when it comes to fire starting! I think in the next video I'll make it easier on myself with a cotton ball :)
