Maiden flight of my new 30% scale Yak. No extreme aerobatics because it was first flight. Trimmed out for level flight and several slow low passes to judge power required for landing.

  • this is the one

  • Go for the Hacker setup then if you can afford it. Well worth it in my opinion.

  • hey, great video. i was just wondering what you came up with for a finished weight on this plane with the electric setup? i have a DL50 cc in mine and was just curious. thanks in advance.

  • From memory, I think AUW was about 17lbs. What's your AUW with fuel?

  • A couple of people have complained about this motor getting warm and seizing. Have you had a problem with it yet?

  • ...and just to add that I've heard has happened to the large Overtec Thumper motor. But I reckon they are one and the same motor. No substitute for quality I'm afraid.

  • Hi, Do you know the brand of the model?

I've the same plane but I buied it used and i don't know the brand.

    Can you help me?

  • so what do you use for an engine now, i've been thinking about getting one but i don't know the right engine size and weight.

  • que video mas aburrido

  • Heck of a maiden! You were clearly very confident that the motor would not smoke or let you down. Sorry to hear ti didn't work out. I've had great success with its smaller siblings.

  • i'm looking at right around 17.5 without fuel. the DL50 produces 30 lbs of thrust so that should be sufficient for this airframe. i'm doing a maiden real soon....possibly this weekend. this is my first giant scale plane. how does yours fly? it looks pretty darn good in the video. nice job flying it. do you still have the plane? great job...enjoy!
