  • The Cowboy Junkies' music perfectly captured that quirky and melancholy mood of the Salvation Army clothing wearing, coffee sipping, poetic quasi self-loathing '90s.

  • Thanks for posting this! I looked for this song for a long time without finding it. Margo's voice is exquisite!

  • @erikaesperanza Takes me back to my Alabama days....and it's so true.

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE the Cowboy Junkies! i MISS this music...xxoo

  • if u r Margo fans..see them play at "Austen City Limits" on PBS

  • 'Guess we'll have to stay in bed today' perfect.

  • They possess a subtle sophistication that is truly unique. I saw them at the 3,000 seat Capital Theater in Columbus; remarkable show. It was the last day of their 1998 tour. After the show, Margo came out and talked to anyone who wished to meet her. The next day, the band came and had a private dinner at the restaurant I ran at the time - then headed home to Canada. They are genuine, down-home beautiful people, and I will always treasure the entire experience.

  • I wish I could find a vid of "Oregon Hill". Seeing the Junkies and John Prine perform most of "Black Eyed Man" together was one of the best concerts I've ever seen!

  • This and Charlie Sexton's 'Under the Wishing Tree' are two of the best and most obscure albums of the 90s.

  • someone stole my black eyed man cd back in 96' ive replaced it now but man those years i lived without it sucked. and the weird thing is i didnt remember the cowboy junkies lament and now thats my fave, no they all are my fave. if u dont own any of there albums and are thinkin of buying get this one. don't steal my copy

  • "I've heard that into every life

A little of it must fall

If there's any truth to the saying,

Lord, let it be a southern rain"
