Loy Krathong Festival. Krathong is made out of banana leaves and flowers and is offered to the river goddess for enough water to grow rice and sustain them throughout the year. It is believed that ones bad luck and misfortune go with it. The paper lantern in the video acts as a symbol of light in the darkness and it reminds the Thai people of the teachings and wisdom of the Buddhist faith.
