My oriental shorthair does that to me when I get home and when I'm in the kitchen. But he doesn't climb, he leaps up to my chest and I catch him. Non-stop purring starts and then he drapes himself across my shoulders like a mink stole as I walk around doing chores. A priceless cat who always knows how to get his guaranteed pettings in.

Thanks for posting this! I had to call the police today for an incident with my landlord (slumlord) and my two kittens were climbing up the poor man's leg. He was equally as nice as this guy and this made me laugh. Thanks for cheering me up.
