Survivors (a simple inspirational song about natural selection)

I wrote this in January 2011. My goal was to write a simple and inspirational campfire song that anyone can play, on the theme of evolution. It ended up being more about natural selection. I am pleased, regardless.

Very moving! Given some of the choices of the lyrics, this strike me as a song to bring comfort and courage to a friend battling a disease. Was this an influence at all?
