Typical arrogant British and American historians attributing victory solely to the British...no mention of the Prussian contribution... guess some things never change. And the second world war was also written by the Allies...but die Deutche armee war die beste in der weld !!!
There is some inaccurate information here. The old imperial guard DID NOT participate in the final charge. Two of their batallions fought in Placenoit against the Prussians, assisting the young guard which was anihilated in the cemetery (the young guard suffered 80% casualties over there)...the rest of the old guard.remained inactive as ultimate reserve force.
It was though the medium guard which fought and lost in the final charge...quite good soldiers, not as good as the old guard though!!!
@uafchris the 100 days offensive was a huge victory offensive, the germans were only stoped at the 2nd battle of the marne, where american troops reonforced the british and french. you should watch a video called [secrets of world war 1]
That was both entertaining and informative. Thank you for uploading.
Hey guys look up Lion Hill. A memorial on the battlefield.
