I am in absolutely no way shape or form a IRA supporter. Bloody Sunday was just one of many terrible days in Northern Ireland's history. Sadly, filmmaking has failed to depict many IRA atrocities carried out, such as the Poppy Day Massacre, when a no-warning bomb exploded on a Remembrance Sunday, as dozens of Protestants stood silently around a war memorial. 12 died, and others were maimed for life.

However, since very few people have seen this Charles McDougall-directed, Jimmy McGovern-scripted docudrama, superior to the Paul Greengrass film Bloody Sunday with James Nesbitt, I thought I'd upload this scene.

  • @Slipramp It wasn't illegal according to some people. It was banned by the police. It was a sad event yes but one event in 30 years of violence. The 650 civilians killed by the IRA should be alive as well.

  • @jonoessex It may have been an illegal demonstration in the eyes of some people but do you shoot innocent people? A total of 26 unarmed civil right protesters and bystanders were shot, including 13 teenagers of whom 7 were KILLED. Five were wounded shot in the BACK. Bernard McGuigan was shot in the BACK of the head while waiving a white flag. These people should all be alive!

  • Sure it is time to move on and Peace is the most precious gift to the people of Northern Ireland after decades of suffering. But Peace can only hold and florish when justice has been served in the rememberance of all those innocent people killed. Whether by murderers from the IRA, UDF or ( in this case) British army. The Inquiry report and PM Cameron's apology was long overdue.Let's hope Northern Ireland's people can forgive eachother and move on and find their Peace through mutual respect.

  • Thank God there is some form of Peace in Northern Ireland. It is time to move on and heal.

  • @MrMarkCClifford This is from a doc-drama called sunday. It is about "bloody sunday" in Derry when the british army shot 14 people on an illegal demonstration during the NI conflict. It is however irish republican propaganda and is not a truthful portrayal of what happened.

  • What movie is this from?

  • there were no good guys... just a lot of victims.. what a sad day day for everyone.....

  • @Slipramp The RUC can only do so much. They could not cope with the level of violence. No police force could. The residents were free to call the fire brigade if they wished. THe fire brigade were probably too stretched due to the mass disorder.

  • @Slipramp That would be a Shit scenario but I wouldn't Planet!
