I saw 2 bottles being thrown and they landed a long way closer to me than the police, they weren't under attack from bottles as if they had been they would have used sheilds, they didn't.
What was the point of the dogs as well??

A typical students comment, bit like the UMSU, they like to ban everything they disagree with despite preaching freedom of speech. I wasn't at the party, I don't know the full circumstances. Police brutality isn't good and their reaction does seem excessive, but it has been mentioned that bottles were thrown at the police, how does a Greater Manchester police officer like that at five in the morning on a sunday...?

Shame I only got there at 2am, lasted for 2hrs before it was raided, but you could see it comin, I got bashed around cause I didn't move quickly enough... They were brutal, it was unreasonable force, for sure, if my hand was broken by a batton just before the exams, whence holding them up in peaceful surrender, damn i'd sue... Complaints a plenty from everyone I know.. Myself included. Fuckin hate the police

The stuff of legends, this will be talked about for years!Shame I missed out!
The police, more like Hitler's little army! To be fair, can see why the police would need to and have a duty to break this up and send every1 home however! You can't go around kicking the shit into people if they are compliant and especially 18-22 y/o girls!A bunch of bitter police officers discriminating against students who are getting the education they never had!!!And people wonder how proper riots start???

16 landcross road is the best house ever! FUFC!

It's for legal reasons, and all the right legal reasons I should add :-)
I was a student at the time and lived two doors from the party house at this time. Frankly I think the police were entirely justified, the people were given 5 separate opportunities to disperse, turn the music down and show some respect to residents, They didn't the police used force to move them, fair play really!

A) 90% Of the students partying didn't know the police were there so had no warning until the TAU started moving in.
B) When the TAU (Tactical Aid Unit) moved in with riot gear and dogs, everyone, and I mean everyone, complied with their request to leave and walked away.
C) The police had blocked the end of the road they wanted people to exit from with their own cars causing a jam, they then violently pushed people who couldn't get through fast enough.

D) The police hit people with batons, kicked and pushed them and had the dogs set upon them WHILE they were walking away.
E) If you really are a student who lived there and not "someone" else you would have seen this for your own eyes. If you are then you are saying it's OK for the police to hit people who comply with their orders anyway and you are a sadist.
