Finally playing my own version of this piece; for years I had played a version that was merely a combination of Dave Evan's and Duck Baker's - something I would hardly call my own. Jeffrey Hillgrove http://www.hillgrovemusic.com/index.html

  • Great rendition, took me by surprise. Happy holidays and thanks for sharing this unique and brilliant interpretation.

  • @Timetostopyouridling You're welcome, and Happy Holidays to you. jh

  • My Galeic is hopeless- but is the title something to do with great and small?

  • @SatanRulezGod In one of my books it is translated as "The little hill and the big hill" -the site of a battle between rival factions, but I believe there are other translations.

  • phenomenal...after hearing you play this, I went on to read your personal info, and yessss, there it was: John Fahey ! ;-d

I loved it: all the way.

  • Thank you Pascal, I think Fahey is such a major influence on my musical being I couldnt bury it even if I wanted to. -btw, been enjoying your vids - great Bensusan stuff.

  • sorry, but i just must comment again, and all i can say any further is rude, just so very rude.

  • are you devoid of musical ear and melodic interpretation? ,evidently sir you are.'' man you have realy taken a wrecking ball to this great work. the ethereal theme of this work is meant to envoke tranquility, and the understanding of the mystical presance of the unseen elemental beings. if there were any fairies present at the playing of this melody in this manner, it would send them fleeing in terror back to the realm in between light and darkness. please hang this one up ,and out to dry

  • This is what it sounded like when someone in the pub would buy Turlough O'Carolan a pint and drop a mickey in it. He would usually play like this for awhile, then get up, stumble, knock everything over on his way to the front door to puke. It was usually a really good laugh though....lol
