During my travails trying to get my machine from CyberPower to work, they sent me an ATI HD 4870 X2 (two, actually -- the first one didn't even POST). For a while, the card repeatedly kept erroring out or bluescreening, saying that atikmdag.sys was doing something bad and the display driver wasn't responding.

Somehow I managed to get Crysis to start without crashing, and this is what I got.

This is under Catalyst 8.10.

  • yes, i solved my problem, just baket 2 times, and final ok :)

  • did u solve the prob...how?

  • bake your VGA at +200c 10mins. and it will be ok :) im happy now

  • nVidia's revenge for watching nVidia logos with an ATi card ^_^

  • download rivatuner and set your speed at a constant rate that way it will keep up without causing the crashes cuz of the display. it also keeping ur display at 60hz might help

  • mmm i had this problem for long time.

I could change CPU+ MB + RAM and all go fine now. Anyway theres a solution to fix it.

    1) Uninstall ATi drivers ( clean all folders...)

    2) Run Microsoft Windows Update and it will download and install the driver for your card.

No more issues. Just they wont be the last catalyst but at least it works fine

  • You Do Know You Need A Computer that can run the Actuall Cards Them Selves You Should have gotten a whole new computer that way you wont be limited by your ram and other stuff to hold you back

  • First install windows again, is posible that you video driver is damage or like LCNitro said try you video card in other pc our you pci express is damage.

  • This is not from the video card its from an update i had the same error check your error reports.. its crysis warhead or crysis/..

  • Your problem is grapphic card with memory defective or your slot PCI Express is defective...

Try install this graphic card in a other pc and try play games...

Could be power supply with no force to supply this graphic card *)
