I wish you were in Canada!! I went to a beginners Zumba class over the weekend and found that the routine was too quick, the instructor did not warn us of changes so as a result, i did not work up a sweat! Too busy trying to copy the moves (quite unsuccessfully). Are there dvd's or longer rountines on youtube if i wanted to try this at home?

this is a great gold adaption. I totally agree that gold is not for just for those unable to move. My gold group has students in young 40's to mid 70's and they are all healthy and I know what their injuries are. to those of you who are critical, I'm sure the instructor is quite aware of her class and abilities.

@pattiohara64 As someone who will be fitness and Zumba certified, an instructor needs to know what their class is capable of. The instructor probably already showed her students how to modify the hip movements, etc prior to this video. No matter if it is Gold or Basic Zumba, the choreo is terrific and the moves are done safely. Unfortunately, far too many Zumba classes are daytime nightclub dance routines (nice) but also will subject people to a higher liklihood of injury unless already fit.

I think you did a great job!!! I do the same thing. I tailor each class based on the students. As an instructor, you know your students injuries. I also do the choreo b4 I turn on music. I live in an active adult community where I have a 48 yr old and a 69 yr student. I lived in California for yrs.,70 yr olds still jog there. The seniors of today are more hip than any other generation. They like 2 shake thier bom boms. My Gpa asked 2 b taken dancing b4 he died. he was in his early 90's.

I"m sorry, but this does not look like a Gold routine. Where's the safety cueing and options for people with hip injuries. It's really just an easy zumba class!
Thank you for your comment. I have been teaching Gold for a year and am aware of the importance of providing proper guidance for students with special needs. I tailor each class based on the students that attend. Gold is NOT just for OLD people with hip injuries. I show the entire choreo before I turn on the music, and give modified moves when there is someone that needs it.
