As Alex's hair is quite long, but is in reasonable condition, Michael chooses a moisturising shampoo to wash it. First tip is to use about the size of an English 50p coin when you pour into your hand, which you then put in five areas - through the top, next through either side, and the final two at the back, making sure you work it in by massaging, rotating circular motions around the scalp. Work the shampoo through the ends as well, and then remember to rinse every bit of shampoo out of the hair.

  • Dude, turn off the water while you talk. Your wasting gallons while you chat.

  • It's important to massage your scalp because the scalp has pores that can get clogged with sebum and dirt and this will not allow individual hairs to push through and grow until the pores are cleansed. It also brings blood to the head which stimulates hair growth.

  • You do realize that water is a renewable resource right? I would turn the water off myself, but no need to get all butthurt over.

  • Thought exactelly the same -.-

  • It's also terrible for making friends.

  • Whatever greaseball.

  • It is VERY important to massage your scalp when you shampoo. If your hair is extremely dry even at the top then you don't need to do it as much and you shouldn't wash your hair more than every couple days. But if you have oily hair then it is important to massage the scalp. Oils are good for your hair but it produces so much that even when you wash it out, by the end of the day your scalp has already produced a lot of natural oils. I never wash my hair once a day....it's TERRIBLE for your hair!

  • ive heard that too :S

  • Ok i have heard that it's not a good idea to massage ur scalp when u shampoo-. cause u remove all the healthy olies that keep the hair shiny and soft.
