Pauliina and Slava met under the big white top of the Cirque du Soleil in the show 'Alegria'. Pauliina performed with her solo trapeze act while Slava, a former world champion sports acrobat, worked in a men's pair. Together the flying Finn and the sturdy Russian created a contemporary hand-to-hand act combining dance, balance, and elasticity. Today they perform as free-lance artists in variety shows, special events, and films.

During the past six years, Pauliina and Slava have given about 2500 performances on five different continents for more than 120 million live and TV spectators.

About Pauliina.

Pauliina started ballet, painting and gymnastics at a very young age in her native Finland. Her passion for arts & performance led into one of the best schools for circus arts, the National Circus School of Montreal.

At the age of 22 she was invited to perform as a soloist in Cirque du Soleil as the first Scandinavian artist.

Pauliina speaks six languages, is an accomplished fine artist and a graduate of the Thompson Education Direct School of fine Art. In the future she wants to exhibit her travel inspired paintings.

About Slava.

Viacheslav Volkov started practicing Sports Acrobatics in Yaroslavl, Russia at 6 years old.
He specialized in men's pair and won the individual World Championship in Manchester, UK, 1997. He was awarded the prestigious Master of Sport Certificate by the Sport Ministry of Russia.

Slava's success in sport was scouted by Cirque du Soleil, and he was invited to perform an acrobatic act for Cirque du Soleil's Alegria show.

His acrobatic skill led into performances in a TV-show Good Morning America (2004), in Solstrom TV-series produced by Cirque du Soleil (2003), and in a TV-special United Nations World Food Program Walk to the World in Rome 2006.

Slava is the technical director of the Finnish-based company ArtTeatro Ltd, which will open a Cirque-Dinner Show in Finland 2011.
