Our Song Ended Too Soon (Original Song) by Ferdy

The song is essentially about how young love does not always survive when faced with the realities of life. This is especially the case when couples marry young and have children very early. They soon forget the 'words of the song'. That is, they no longer say the things they ought to say to each other to keep their love alive. There is a communication breakdown.

In case your'e wondering about the change of pace at the beginning. The song began as a somewhat over-ambitious project and didn't seem to be leading anywhere until I decided to get back within my comfort zone of rock 'n' roll. However, I couldn't bring myself to leave out the original intro. In a way there's a parallel there with the theme of the song. Even though I loved that fancy piano beginning it just didn't work out and I had to break from it.

I played all the instruments and sang all the vocals.

@reliablebow Thank you for revisiting this one Michael. Yes, they are beautiful kids in every way. Lucky they don't take after their grandpa lol. By the way, I also have two beautiful grandchildren in Japan as well, with a third one due this coming June. They're from my second marriage. Thanks to Skype I manage to see and talk with them quite regularly.

Thank you Lilly. I believe there is a purpose to everything. We had two wonderful children who are both still happily married with two wonderful children each. You see them at the end of the video.

Yes that handsome young fellow was me : ) The baby is my 41 year old son. Time flies! I enjoy watching videos where people show their country from their perspective. I'm glad that people enjoy watching videos of my country. Australia is more than just the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Opera House and the Outback. That's what most people see and think of Australia. Thanks Michael! Yes, the last verse was intended to finish the rather sad song on a positive note. I must admit I've always wanted to sound like Paul or John, but there you are lol. Couldn't bring myself to leave out that intro. Classiest bit of music I've written so far : )
