@buddhaboony ay man, i remember that game, australia was on the brink of collapse coz the top order were all fools trying to smash the ball out of the park. Bevo came in at 6/85 (or around there) and batted with the bottom order (most notably andy bichel) and WON! does any1 have footage of this game?

i work with alot of indians and from their view, they all thought Bevan was a genius. They regarded him as the best player to come from Australia. Yet us aussies did them a favour and dropped him. Shame on us (Aussie cricket board)!!

Pick him now against Sri Lanka. Why not?

@jackwills101 i believe i have, i am indian after all. tendulkar has only recently played some amazing match winning innings, before he used to succumb to the pressure of big matches as well as batting under tight situations. im not discarding tendulkar in anyway, he is probably the greatest batsman in the last 50 years, but yeah i just think that bevan was better than him in odis simply because he was able to win so many matches for australia and made odis so thrilling for me.
-
ever heard of somebody called Tendulkar?
What about the innings in 2001-2 versus New Zealand when Australia was just about gone and forgotten and Bevo came in and scored a miraculous century and got them across the line. Surely someone must remember that one. Bevan's finest innings in one day cricket

Hmm, I can't remember that off the top of my head but I am sure I watched it. I watched all the one dayer's over that period. When one dayer's were exciting and it seemed more important to win. This 20/20 is nothing but trouble for the 50 over game. Only the die hard cricket fans will be left to follow the 50 over game while the rest of the impatient people will watch the 20 20.
Maybe that game can be found on dvd ? If anyone has this game you are talking about, post some of it please.

It might be hard to find as it was not a final, just one of the games in the triangular series. It was an amazing exciting innings. If anyone out there has it, I would love to see it again. 20/20 cricket is rubbish I agree, but surely those that watch test cricket are the diehard fans. The future of the 5 day game looks bleak, which saddens me. If test cricket dies, cricket dies with it. They will have to call it something else

You're right ! Test cricket is the real cricket. It was boring to watch during the era of Boon and Marsh at the crease. But I like watching test cricket as much as one day stuff. I don't know what the future holds for test cricket , I think it's in the hands of the players and the media. When you get guys like Brett Lee or Mcgrath or Ponting saying that test cricket means more to them than any other form of the game, thats good . Just hope the media doesn't kill test cricket.

I'm looking for a specific innings that Bevan played that isn't on youtube but maybe is available on cricinfo records - it was Australia vs The World XI, and Bevan playing another fantastic innings that almost took the game away from The World XI. I first noticed Bevan there.

Hmm, I personally don't have that game. But is that the game that was at the MCG and Dean Jones played for the World XI and made over 100 ? Maybe it was later on . Maybe around the Brian Lara days. I 'm sure someone has it .
