I think you have this movie mixed up with Flashdance. *That* actress couldn't dance and had an extra. I think your teacher is bullshitting you.

I agree with Shady. This is Antonia Franceschi. She danced for many years with the New York City Ballet before this movie as a highly accomplished ballerina. She was trained by Margaret Craske, a member of the original Diaghilev Ballets Russes!! She is made for his role, growing up in a deprived area, surrounded by violence on the streets. She is a highly talented classical ballerina and has actually choreographed ballets herself! One can only applaud this lady.

@emilyolds1 it has been adapted for the piano, you can only seem to get the full orchestral version on itunes.

I don't like the choreography but her tecnique is flawless...Very good. But the choreography felt repetitive.

it's funny, because the actress who is the dancer in this scene couldn't dance so there's another woman dancing instead of here,and this woman is a teacher on my school :)
