Second video, trying full throttle on the ground with full negative pitch ~12 deg
Compressor seems to make boost cos the boost pipe warms up.
Sounds good so far
Engine and fuel specs:
engine: YS50ST main needle 3 clicks open from normaly aspirated setup.
fuel: 80% methanol 20% aerosave competition oil
More to come...

  • Can you notice any power gain? Looks real cool!

  • Thanks, I only did some flying around and some pitch pumping, feels lighter in the air for sure. more testing when I´ll get more methanol cos I´m all out.

  • Where did you even find a turbo that small?

  • Hi, I made it myself, cos I didn´t find small enough anywhere. And as for the lubrication, from the exhaust waste oil.

  • I highly doubt your turbo is making any boost... it's probably adding a restriction to the escaping exhaust gasses and the intake as well. Air does not have the same dynamics the smaller things get. I also doubt the tolerances in the turbo are high enough to be efficient or that the turbine profiles are even efficient. If you want to stop guessing then hook up a boost gauge to the compressed side then do a full throttle negative pitch run on the ground.

  • @DJNATi0N808 electric motors dont have an exhaust buddy

  • @jojothedog1234 He says the intake pipe heats up. If thats true, that means the intake air has to be compressed (Adiabatic heat process). All he need is a reading of ambient temperature, and charge air temperature, and if the charge air is hotter, then its pressurized. The temperature difference lets he calculate boost pressure aswell.

  • @MJPilote impossible.

  • @wisconwest no it's not retard... it probably makes the engine make less power. how is that cool you moron?

  • give it a wastegate :D

  • @jojothedog1234 who gives a fuck, its cool.

  • wut kine turbo is dat think it will werk on electric rc car

  • Next we'll be strapping inter-coolers on our nitros.

  • @jojothedog1234

He may be right on about the exhaust gasses into the intake theory. If your cold compressor side is eating exhaust, could explain the really long spool up time and the constantly emitted stream of unburned exhaust gas.

  • would you be willing to make those plans public? I have a friend who is a mech engineer and says he could have one made if he had the plans. We're very interested in it. Did you use solid works? or Autodesk Inventor? Please message me :)
