When Bollards Attack!

A series of hapless car drivers come unstuck when they try to sneak past a set of automatic bollards in Manchester designed to let only buses past - PS with hilarious results.

Those bollards are fantastic and have saved hundreds of lives from reckless dangerous motorists. That stupid woman with her kid in the backseat should have her child taken away by child protective services for reckless endangerment. I would pay good money for a DVD with an hour worth of these idiots crashing into bollards, maybe the proceeds from the DVD can go to pay for more of these bollards to be installed elsewhere.

@whattheheck1000 This is equivalent to a bridge which lifts to allow boats to pass, and the cars which are damaged are analogous to some complete and utter git deciding to try to race across before it parts, and then flying into the river. The bollards do not cause the accident, the idiots who are *attempting to beat them* are the idiots. It's not 100% of speeders, it's 100% of people who *try to race the bollard*. That is: 100% idiots. Idiots have accidents WITHOUT HELP.

@bkw140 So perhaps you can explain the woman who drives up to them in the first incidence, backs away, and then tries to tailgate the bus through the bollards? Or the excessive speed used by all the people trying to get through this 'poorly designed' piece of road.

Looks like there is insufficient warning about it being a buses only lane guarded by bollards. When you have that many incidents, it is always a sign of poor design.

Ermmm, if you look to the right of the first one (0.14) you can actually fit a car through the side of the first bollard and on the pavement - maybe not if your a woman though.
