This is an early Alex De Grassi tune found on his first album titled Turning. The composition reflects several influences from celtic to Bert Jansch. Its a magnificent work using a collage of hammer ons and pull offs to achieve a fluid movement underneath a really captivating melody. The use of open strings to accent the melody is one of the beauties of this piece. The fast moving spirited tempo ( like a sprint) makes this challenging to play. The music is available and it is a very rewarding piece to learn. DeGrassi is one of the most outstanding of all modern composers for fingerstyle guitar. Not only enjoyable to the ear but enjoyable to perform.
Color me astounded, you nailed it! Hat's off to ya, young man!!!

my folks had a windham hill sampler CD which featured this piece, and I always figured that is was one of those pieces that could only be played properly by the composer. I stand corrected. Well done.

Not sure if its an artifact of the video (different playback speed from recording speed?), or if he's got the capo in the wrong place, but this is in the wrong key!!
