@emmalemmadiification Lucky you! He's such fun- have you checked out "N or NW" yet? To me its a very cute and stylish film, and shows that he could work just as innovatively with live action, too, and heavily influenced by Man Ray. @phaasch I'm a photography student and I was introduced to his work today at my lecture. I think he's really inspirational and deserves more recognition than he gets.

How come only students of film and animation will have heard of this man?? he was a genius and deserves true recognition. More so the organisations who comissioned him- youd think the Post Office would be so staid and conservative, and yet they seem to have been at the forefront of film creativity in the 1930s (these films, Night Mail, etc). Just as striking as the day it was made.

This is great! And very avant garde yes. I was watching 'Metropolis' lately (1927) and you can see that the amazing architectural scenes with machines flying around must have influenced our 'modern' makers of sci-fi films. It's all been done before!
