Where did I pretend to know "every nuance of any human psyche"? I think you're reading into what I wrote a bit too deeply. All I'm saying is that recovered memories have occasionally been demonstrated to be wrong... by science. I don't know the details of your life. I wouldn't pretend to know anything about you. All I suggested is that you look into it. I still suggest you look into it. Aren't you at all curious about what science has to say about the phenomenon?

  • @empbac Also saying that recovered repressed memories can't be recovered or that emotions and memories can't be repressed even by children, is way worse than stating an individual's experience is flawed because of some study.

I find it a slippery slope to pretend you know every nuance of any human psyche, from what can and cannot happen black and white, it's like claiming to be omniscient.

  • I've talked to many people who get really bad sleep paralysis episodes like that, and many where abused. I was abused and I'm only now seeing the damage it has done.

The abuse was sexual, and I know it happened. I've always had SP since I was a kid, I'm 22 now and I occasionally get it. However through my studies I've found ways to basically get rid of it. Haven't had anything note worthy in a month. That's new to me. I sleep way better now. I think god helped but it was my journey.

  • @empbac I recovered it myself one day when I was about 16-18 years old. I couldn't bare the feelings it brought on so I buried those to. Then the emotions all came out over the course of several sleep paralysis episodes.

My mom was abused and didn't recover her memories until she was about 27, she gets sleep attacks to. I get them and I'm sometimes not aware of them, but I remember strange things happening in my lucid dreaming. So I know I don't always know when I get them.

Recovered suppressed memories have shown to be... unreliable. Was this with the aid of a repressed memory psychologist? You may want to do some research on this. False memories CAN be created out of nothing, especially if someone is 'helping' you remember. When I experienced this as a kid I thought I was possessed or something, but it turns out that science can easily explain this phenomenon.

  • @DayMare2000 I will, you said you're a Wiccan right? Well till we merry meet again. Good bye.

  • @DayMare2000 You're assuming that a bunch of rocks did it, and not yourself. That's not rational. They're just stones, why would a "spirit" be scared of rocks?

I find my way to make more sense than claiming that some stones did it. You simply used the stones as a psychological mechanism to push away what was happening to you.

  • @DayMare2000 Why would a couple of rocks work? I think it's just in your head and from what I find is if you fear it, it comes back more often. I think the gemstones is just you tricking yourself into not fearing something that is purely psychological.

I get them less frequently now.

I'm handling it from a rational perspective.

  • I know this is an old comment but yeah they say it's because you're in the occult or it's a demon. I've had this since I was a child.

After the onset of recovered suppressed memories I started getting sleep attacks.

I was freaked out, I thought it was demons sometimes it went away when I called on Jesus. Not always, I usually have to fight it off.

I've found that it parallels what was done to me as a child.

I've also found what happens to me the attacks is common in child sexual abuse survivors.

  • 50% of the time I can break free from it.. but its exhausting.. and I pass out again within minutes haha. I haven't had scary things happen while in paralysis.. I just sit there thinking "...fml what if there's a fire?!" I have always understood it as just a weird dream even since I was a little kid. I now normally just go back to sleep when I realize its happening....weird I know.
