  • I'm new to the blackbird and all so don't scold me if this sounds stupid. But, what if a version of the blackbird was made that was powered by uranium? You wouldn't have the issue of refueling after take off and would stop the "weeping" of fuel on ground.

  • @0YtsanBlowout0 No, Google Nuclear Aircraft

  • It was never the best is was the best public black budget project but now the stuff we have made make that look ancient all have to say is f22 raptor and it is in the white world

  • @lukchy505 oops.sorry 4 dat

  • @0YtsanBlowout0 yr right but wat about the radiation realese many people would get radiation sickness

  • Just think. With today's technology, how much better could we make it?

  • I heard that the Lockheed C-5A was the first plane capable of carrying something the size of an operational nuclear reactor, but that was a long time ago.

  • @hwoods01

Your knowledge of the history is excellent. Makes perfect sense now, thank you.

  • @bobdole57 The SR's never directly overflew soviet airspace.. They stood off the border and used their cameras took take pictures 'OVER' the border. Remember, After 1960 and the shooting down of Gary Powers, JFK promised no more "manned" overflights.. That where the M-12/M21 came into the picture..

  • @hwoods01 Fair enough, but what about when they were over Soviet territory doing surveillance?

  • @bobdole57 The flight plan of the SR-71 training flights (over the US) were routed over unpopulated areas.
