was that a series 1. the series 2 are horrible looking on the inside. the steering wheel being the worst part. and then stupidily placed touch sensitive buttons and the most bland dashboard ever.

I'd love a better view of this dashboard. Perhaps at night we may see it better.

Is it LHD? It has the indicator on the left of the wheel.

Lagonda shocking.Greetings

@zmitrovic This was the world first computerized car (ok, your's is a later version) and thus definitely a piece of history. Please upload a video of the electronic voice (demo mode?) and more details (button sound effects?).
>The computer is like todays Wii.
Do you mean the size or in which way?
Corroding contacts make trouble in all old hardware (pinballs, home organs etc.). What were the early problems that made it infamous? Were it software bugs or hardware damage (overheat?).
There are Lagonda V8 S1 to S4.
S1 is not the wedge designed by Towns.
S4 is the car with softened edges and no pop up lights.
So, my car is a Series 2, allthough I would like to name it Series 2,5, becaus of its CRT screens, which have not been present in the first S2 cars

It is a series 2. But the are some flaws in this series specifications, I would call it Series 2.5
Yes, the dimensions are like the WII
And yes it is LHD

What a crazy car. It's moon priced, a gas hog and so full of flaws, and shaped like a dust buster. The Lagonda looks like when someone had the freak idea of making a given concept car in series without any further optimization. (Only DeLorean can beat this - Back to the Future...)
What made the electronics so unreliable?
- Were parts shaking loose (e.g. socketed ICs) or did it overheat?
- How big was the computer unit? (Many arcade videogame PCBs of that era were huge.)

Actually they are very reliable. They have been put on the market before they have been ready, that is why they call them unreliable. And there are too many people who have "worked" on this car without knowing how it "works". Mine is a daily driver in the summer.
The computer is like todays Wii.
The main problem is that contacts can corrode after 30 years, but otherwise.... no real problems

Actually it is a Series II according to the AMOC nomenclature. But it was also proposed to cal it Series 2,5 or 2 b because of the TV screens dashboard.
