Wow, these robots are incredible... I'm just worried that by the time I have enough disposable income to buy myself one, they'll be so rare that no-one will be able to get hold of them :/ Wish Sony would start making them again...

wait a minute, how is your AIBO talking? I have an ERS-7 White, and he does not talk! I have had him since 2002 and he is still working in full capacity save for his wireless card.

@steelskyblue Is your Aibo a Mind 1 or 2? If so it needs upgrading to Mind 3 to be able to talk... you just have to buy a mind 3 memory stick. If he is already mind 3 he is not set on voice sounds.... you can change this via the Aibo voice guide mode (pressing the first and last part of his back sensor at same time for few seconds)..... let me know! :)

@steelskyblue He might be a Mind 1 or 2 which means he will only make tonal noises. If you upgrade him to Mind 3 they can be set to speak tonal or English! Which Mind is he? If he is Mind 3 you can check his settings via the voice guide mode...

So, you could just give them any pink toy and the'll play with it? Go to 0:38 and watch pelo. 1:00-1:13 Kinda convinced me to get an ERS 7. I just love the short tunes these dogs play.

Yes the ERS 7 will perform tricks with its pink ball and bone on its own. The older models also track the ball (no bone) but only kick and headbutt he ball, no tricks like the ERS 7.

It is indeed!!! I had to sell her recently due to unfortunate personal circumstances but I have kept her memory stick so I can bring her to life at some point in the future :-)
