@tedgoh I saw accom-paninest and I imagined some side dish for a panini

It always gives a cellist a thrill to think that this great musical mind devoted attention to our instrument, and the result here is all we could hope.

@tedgoh thats what a sonata is :)

4:02 just a tad flat....haha but who cares he is amazing! great performance
-
Wow, it's amazing what drama Brahms created with just cello and paino! Terrific!
-
actually he did write a cello concerto, the double concerto was first for solo cello. this is available as a recording by Julius Berger, easy to find, on Amazon etc.
-
yup, he was the little boy. now he became a master! Bravo...

oh my god,
Is that the boy that was in the Documentary
"Mao to Mozart" ?
the piano is not an accompaninest, this is more like a chamber piece "duet".

actually brahms' cello sonatas are entitled sonatas for "piano and violoncello", they're more chamber music than solo sonatas =] notice that there are parts of the piece where the piano takes the melody, and the cello is acting as accompaniment, or not playing at all.
